COLUMBIA, SC – McKay, Cauthen, Settana, & Stubley, P.A. is pleased to announce that Janet Brooks Holmes has recently been elected as a Board Member for the South Carolina Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. The FBA held the election on September 6, 2012 in Greenville, South Carolina.
Ms. Holmes, a Partner in the firm, is a 1984 graduate of Clemson University and a 1988 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law. In 2011, she was appointed as a member of the Merit Selection Panel for the position of United States Magistrate Judge for the District of South Carolina. She is also a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court. Ms. Holmes practices in the areas of civil litigation, trucking and transportation defense and insurance defense litigation.
The Federal Bar Association consists of over 15,000 federal lawyers and judges from around the country all with the goal to “promote the sound administration of justice and integrity, quality and independence of the judiciary”. The South Carolina Chapter has more than 200 lawyers from around the state. The Chapter acts as a liaison between attorneys and judges.
